Sum 41 - Underclass Hero

Sum 41 - Underclass Hero Sum 41 has recently released their new album Underclass Hero and has released two singles. It is a mix of their older style but a little more grown up.

Underclass Hero debuted at #7 on Billboard Top 200. It also reached #1 on the Japanese charts.

The title track and first single is an anthem of power to the 'underclass'. With statements of standing on your own two feet this song has a powerful meaning.

Walking Disaster, their second single, is a song that is no less powerful than their first off the album. It is a song of having to leave and hit rock bottom before you can truly find yourself. With a melodic beginning and ending and an aggressive yet catchy middle this song is unforgettable.

The album pursues through with more cantabile songs, such as Dear Father and With Me. Along with harder songs, like March Of Dogs and The Jester.

The lyrics hold the bands political views as long as mistakes made by themselves and others. In Speak Of the Devil the lyrics touch on religion.

Having this diversity of sounds within this album makes it well worthwhile. For fans of Sum 41's previous work I urge you to buy the album and listen to their achievement. And I strongly suggest that anyone interested in pop punk music check them out.

I give this album a 4 out of 5.
