Tickle Me Pink

Tickle Me Pink Tickle Me Pink is the kind of saying used when someone is so flattered, they turn pink from their blush. But the band Tickle Me Pink is so much more than a simple blush-no, more like an entire beating to the brain. Their sound is so unique, they could tour with just about anyone and fit right in. And their story is just as sad as their music sounds.

The same day their first full-length album, Madeline, was released (July 1st of this year), their bassist, Johnny Schou died at the age of 22. This sounds a lot like the Hawthorne Heights case of Casey Calvert. Ironically, the bands toured together shortly after the band's album was released.

Typical is not only the first single of Madeline, but is also the first track. The song's video fits the track perfectly, discussing the topic of a "Typical whore" claiming to know the subject of the song. She tries to pull a fast one over the subject, but he knows better, and tells her that "on the coldest night, in the darkest room, I will sleep alone 'cause it's better than you."

The next song on the album is The Time Is Wrong, which turns the tables. Now the subject isn't worth someone's time, as the time is wrong. "The truth has come out, don't you waist your time on me, the time is wrong. So take a second look, I will be gone, gone," is part of the chorus.

Next up is The Lush Life. Now, the title implies someone with a good life-full of material goods. But really, the song is about hiding. Hiding not only from one's self, but also from someone with power. Controlling power, that is. The subject hides from being defined by someone with controlling power.

Madeline is the next track of the album. This song is about a girl who lies herself to death. "Oh I never said goodbye, I wish I would have tried. I couldn't hear her cries, as she filled her veins with lies, until she saw the light," is the chorus. This girl is found by the river, dead and alone, and completely full of lies. Madeline was found dead by the river, with no one that trusted her.

Number five is We Still Dance, then We're Not Alone, The Answer, I Can't Breathe, Go Die, Beside The Others, and the extra bonus track, Tomorrow's Ending. All these are power songs of loss and struggle. Tinkle Me Pink is just that-a band of loss and struggle, but still a band.

If you got this far in the review, that means you should go listen to Tickle Me Pink. Their album, Madeline is amazing, and available everywhere.
