Killjoys Make Some Noise, Because My Chemical Romance is back! - Comments

  • a change will always help somebody, and it helped me.....
i was clinically depressed before borrowed this CD. i may seem cliche and unbelieveible and all, but i actually related to the songs and such, most of which helped pull me out of my despresion. I am already saving up for their CD for myself, and cant wait for their next live concert!

  • Sellouts? Uh-Uh, no way. They've had a change in their lives, they've evolved, grown and Danger Days is the product of that. I love all of their music, and I've never found a band that sounds like MCR. I have never found an album, that even sounds like Danger Days. It's just so creative!

  • This was a good article, but I am sad to disagree. MCR used to speak to me when I was young. The lyrics had meaning, and the music had a feel to it that I loved. The new album just feels to me like any other pop album out there. Sellouts, perhaps. I don't know. I just miss my old love. I'm all for change, but some things should just be left as they were.

  • I don't think they're major sellout, but I honestly cannot stand MOST of the new album. Maybe if I corrupted my mind into thinking they were another band, I might like the new songs, but it just DOESN'T sound like my My Chem. I like Na Na Na and Sing, that's about it. I've listened to the newest one twice. I like that they have a story to the song and the videos characters are easy to love, but to me, it's not them anymore.

  • I can't even listen to their new album. I heard part of than NA Na Na song and the video and almost cried. I almost cry every time I think about their new music. It amkes me soooo angry that they had to go and change everything, and now they look like major sellouts, and I think they are.

  • i bought it today off iTunes, and have listened too it all daysince. I was so prepared to be disappointed, but like you I made sure not o compare it to the other albums. It doesn't take away from their other work, it just broadens their talent. I was a little disappointed at first but they are genius, absolutely.Everything about this album is unique, and creative, entertaining, well done, and the music is freaking awesome. Scarecrow is my favorite, it's absolutely beautiful, and anyone who says that their songs have lost their beauty, that one isgorgeous. maybe that's just me. They're all amazing though. Forgive me if I' ot making sense, it's late. I think they did a fantastic job. I love My Chemical Romance just as much as ever and I'm impressed by their spectrum of talent.

  • I love your concept of the album flowing like a radio show, I'll agree that it doesn't flow as smoothly as the previous albums; finding myself having to skip to an upbeat song after listening to an upbeat song...e.g. I can't listen to scarecrow straight after vampire money or party poison. I really enjoyed reading your review...it wasn't as biased as a lot are; boldly advertising their hatred or dissapointment for the new album. People forget to look at this album as it's own creation and immediantly compare it to the black parade. I have to say, as much as people disagree, they were incredibly brave with this album and if they had made something alike to the black parade, it would have dissapointed even more, because nothing could really follow up something that big, the only way to continue forward, was to totally change or create something as controvertial as the black parade was. If you understand what I'm saying.... ?? I dunno...suppose I'm ranting now..anyway, I enjoyed your review!!! XD

  • im one of those people that dont like change and im not comparing the new album to their old ones. but my main fight for my music is that it has real emotional reasons for being written not about going out to clubs like horrible rap crap. also how its actual people playing real instruments. and im not happy for this album because they used too many synthesizers and effects. and its not true mcr music in my mind. mcr isnt supposed to be a mainstream band its supposed to be more you love them because you do, not because you hear them on the radio alot. and i felt they were trying to appeal to a different crowd in this album and i nor their other true die hard fans were in.
your concepts in this article were amazing and its true they were trying to make a new kind of album which they succeeded in making. it just was too much of a different path than they were capable in making. because in doing so they changed their image and it was too much of a different direction.

  • Personally i didn't compare it to their previous albums, I never do that. \Their albums are all not going to be the same. My handwriting changes every 5 minutes, why should they be stuck on the same sound? I hate it when people complain and compare about previous/current CD's. If both CD's are different, people will complain about how they should have done the same as the previous CD. If the Current CD remains similar people will complain about how they should move on and try a new sound
What an Artist goes through obviously changes, and they are growing older too...
Overall I like their new CD, there are around 2 songs that i don't truly like, does that mean the CD sucks? No. I always dislike or feel indifferent with a couple of song from certain artist. And it doesn't matter. It doesn't mean I'm not a "true" fan.

  • As an avid fan of MCR sadly the album was brought down to the newness i'll call it. But after thinking, i agree whole with the radio concept, its diffrent, and thats what MCR want to be :)

  • i like almost all their albums. i agree with MCR when they say the black parade wasnt great as it nearly destroyed the band. Im sorry to say that even though the songs "dont flow" who cares?! MCR should be allowed to express how they feel in each song if that means they dont flow so what....(rant over)

  • I'm not as big of a My Chemical Romance fan as I used to be but I might listen to this.

  • I really like the CD. Perhaps even love it the most of all of them (:
I got the idea that it was a radio show, which I did agree was very clever,
But I also think the songs may still have an underlying story -- It's a story of
a society gone south, from what I've read into while learning the lyrics.
Thanks so much for posting this article, I really enjoyed it!

  • I've never listened to the album. I've listened to Na Na Na and Sing, but that's all. I'm hoping that mom got me the album for Christmas, so I'm holding out.

    Not relevant.

Anything, this article is really cool. I like how you described it :)

Anyway, I love MCR's new album. I already have each song's lyrics memorized after listening to it straight for one week.
