Born This Way: Album of the Decade or Not?

Lady Gaga is one of the most popular music artists of the day, and has millions of fans worldwide. All were ecstatic for her newest album, Born This Way. Most were pleased, saying it's her best yet. Some even declared it the album of the decade! I, however, must say that I don't think it's as great as they say.

To start the album off, you have the party song Marry The Night. The hook is fantastic, and I was hoping for the song to be like that, but instead it goes to some dance song, which isn't nearly as good. Marry The Night as the lead song was a mistake. No, it's not bad. But there is better on this album.

The next song was favored by a lot of fans, for it was the lead single. You know it, Born This Way! I prefer Marry The Night over Born This Way. The lyrics are golden, and if she had found a better beat, tune, and sound to match it, the song could have been golden. Sorry Gaga, but Born This Way isn't that great of a song.

Government Hooker seems to be a song about censorship, hence the bleeping at the end. Some dirty lyrics make it unique, but it's one of the worst songs on the album. First of all, it's hypocrite-like for her to put this song, as the album and the SONG are censored. It resembles Love Game, but in a bad way. I can't help to find this song... well, bad.

Judas, aka the second single, is practically Bad Romance #2. Fun, yes. It's a creative, yet sick, metaphor about forbidden love. Judas is just one song that you can't help but like. It's catchy and fun. But, please, be more creative next time.

Lyric wise, Americano isn't special. The song itself is pretty good. The tune and beat are perfect. Very catchy, fun track. I like it.

Hair is one of my favorites. The lyrics are genius. This is what you should be singing. I love every part of it. We should all be our hair!

Scheibe is my absolute least favorite song on the album. Annoying, horrible hook and lyrics, and plain bad! Honestly, compare it to her older songs, and this looks terrible! Honestly, never ever EVER make another song like this. Please.

Boo! The song Bloody Mary has a spooky feeling to it, which is why it's one of my favorite songs from the album. One thing it has that most of the album doesn't is feeling. She isn't just singing. She's putting her heart in this song. Great song!

Bad Kids has the worst hook on the album. The verses are average. The chorus is great, but it doesn't make up for the other failures. You could do better.

Highway Unicorn sounds a whole lot like Poker Face in my opinion, making it unoriginal. But as a lover of Poker Face, Highway Unicorn is a favored track. It's Poker Face reborn, with many similar qualities, which aren't a joy, but some new ones. It's good, but not amazing.

Heavy Metal Lovers is an autotuned mess. It sounds like S&M by Rihanna, in my opinion. Poor song.

Electric Chapel is a good song, but nothing makes it stand out. It's easily forgettable, which I don't like in a song. I feel that this, like many songs, didn't get the work they needed to make it reach it's full potential.

You And I is the biggest stand-out on the album. It's rock and roll. This is one of the top songs on the album. I really like this. It shows her more serious side, which was dimmed on this release.

If you think you've heard the album of the decade material so far, The Edge Of Glory must be like a piece of heaven to you! Beautifully written, great vocals, fun, great beat and tune, and it must be the top track on the album. Love it!

Overall, the album was average. The only reason I bought it was because it was 99 cents on amazon. The standouts are The Edge Of Glory, You and I, Bloody Mary, Hair, Americano, and Marry The Night. Please, next time, don't try to be a party girl. Compared to The Fame, this album isn't nearly as good. Go back to the fame, please, Gaga. I love that side of you.

I mentioned earlier that the album is missing feeling. I think that for the majority of the time, she's just singing. Not really putting all of her emotions into it. If you put the emotion and power you put into The Fame, you really could put out the album of the century. And who knows, you really could. It's only 2011. I'm hoping for a great improvement next time. Good luck, Gaga!
