When The Sun Goes Down... Selena Gomes Out (And Better Than Ever)

The one word I can use to describe the album is 'powerful.' Not just because of her top-10 single Who Says, but because of the other songs as well. Selena has broken away from Disney in a slow, smooth way. The new album, When The Sun Goes Down, is perfect for anyone. I can already see it being the #1 album. Not because it's Selena, but because it's amazing. Perfect tunes, beats, words, and everything else make this album more special than any of her albums. To help you get a feel of the album, I'm gonna give you a track by track review.

The first track, Love You Like A Love Song, isn't bad. It's certainly not the best though. It's VERY catchy. But if you listen to it 20 times in a row, it's bound to get annoying. It probably describes all teenage romance, and is a good song. But it's forgettable. I'll give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Bang Bang Bang was the second single from the album. It's VERY techno and VERY catchy. I really think it's about Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas. But I think that if you dated someone rude in the past, this is what you should say. Haha, anyways, I'll give it a 3/5. Nothing amazing. But we're getting there....

Who doesn't know Who Says? The words are very powerful, and it's fun too. I really think this deserve to be the single. The message is very clear, and it's one of my favorites. 4.5/5. Only because I feel like the 'na na na na na na na na' part feels like a filler. Great job!

When you think of the name, We Own The Night, you're expecting an upbeat, fun dance track. I prefer the slow song it actually is. When I heard the song at first, I was thinking of a romance novel. Beautiful lyrics. Even at it's slow pace, it makes me want to dance. Beautiful, beautiful song. This may be in my top 3. 5/5. Beautiful!

Hit The Lights is a masterpiece. It's bound to be a hit! It's my favorite. The lyrics are great, and even more mature than her other songs. I interpreted as an anthem saying to live your life right. It makes me want to dance. It, like We Own The Night, is a song that actually makes me smile. Songs usually don't affect me emotionally, but this makes me smile. 6/5!

Selena Gomez and Britney Spears? That's bound to be a fun song! The song they did together, Whiplash, is fun! Personally, I really want to hear Britney sing it. This is really different for Selena, it's more techno like Bang Bang Bang. Fun song, but it's hard to think it's a stand out. For one, it was stuck between some of the best songs on the album. The lyrics aren't anything special either. 2.5/5.

Selena did perfect on the title song, When The Sun Goes Down. It's fun and makes me dance, but it doesn't have a techno feeling, which I really like. This is defiantly the dance song of the album. Not to mention the AMAZING beat. It makes me smile. 5/5

My Dilemma has a great tune. The lyrics are pretty good too. Have you ever liked someone who you really don't want to like? You might relate to this song! The tune is great too. 5/5! Love it!

Katy Perry, who wrote Rock God from A Year Without Rain, wrote That's More Like It. For the two, I'd be hoping for something better. The chorus is just way too repetitive for my liking. This is easily the worst on the album. The thing that makes the song strong are the lyrics. It's saying that girls aren't weaker than boys. I'm a boy, and I have to agree with the lyrics, because it's true. I love the meaning. But in total it's a 2.5/5.

Outlaw has a very different feel. It reminds me of A Year Without Rain. It makes me smile. It's fun, but a ballad. 5/5. Love it! One of my favorites.

The last true track on the album is Middle Of Nowhere. And it made the PERFECT closing. The lyrical content is so true, and the chorus is just PERFECT. Easily one of the bests. I love it! Great song! 5/5. It makes me smile.

Dices is the last song, but it's just a Spanish version of Who Says. I've heard the lyrics changed, but I don't speak Spanish. See Who Says.

The release is making me jumpy! I can't wait. I'll buy it at midnight. (I'd be up anyways). Her best album yet, and the album of the summer. Keep up the AMAZING work. I can't wait!
