I absolutely love the new album and it's new sound. My sister bought it for me a few weeks ago and I have been listening to it non-stop. It's so addicting, especially the first song on the album, Fast In My Car. The song is so upbeat, you could dance to it.
Now & Still Into You are two of my other favorites on the album aswell. If I had to rate their self-titled CD one outta ten stars, I'd rate it ten fat golden stars!!! ^.^
This is a great review. I love how you've gone so detailed into every song, giving me a great impression on what songs I should listen to and not. I've only heard Still Into You so far and keep procrastinating from listening to the whole album, but your review has definitely encouraged me to listen to the album already! I didn't listen to Paramore from the beginning, but once I heard their stuff in '08, I think, I fell in love with them instantly. They were my first 'alternative' band, sort to speak, so I'm really glad they popped my alternative cherry
I love, love, love the message and the lyrics of 'Proof', but I just can't get behind the actual tune of the song. That's really the only slightly negative thing I have to say about this album - it's perfect for in the car. Excellently written article and break-down of the album :)
Since I wrote this article a while back my mind has changed on a couple of songs. It does grow on you overtime, and now I'm really quite fond of almost all of them.
Personally, I loved the album. I didn't like any of the songs right off the bat, but that was kind of cool. Each song was a grower, and after a couple listens I loved each of them. I think they did a terrific job pushing the envelop and making a record that was created through happiness, compared to Brand New Eyes, which was born out of hate.
Brand New Eyes was my favorite record of theirs for a long time, but I'm glad they didn't make it again. I love this album and I don't think any song should be nixed or replaced. They all just fit, to me.
They don't need the Farro's to make a good record. They're matured as musicians and I think this album is just the beginning (:
I dig the review though (: It's cool to see some other perspectives.
@ Hayleyisbored Paramore was one of the first bands I saw live too, it was about 2010/2011 I saw them:) "All We Know Is Falling" will forever be my favorite Paramore album just for "My Heart" which really means a lot to me. Though "Brand New Eyes" is really amazing too, and "Ignorance" and "Misguided Ghosts" are my favorites from that album:3
I've liked Paramore for a few years, since I went to see them at a gig in 2007 (and it was my first gig!) which was for Riot! I think, but I only knew 'Emergency' at the time. When I first heard the new album, I really wasn't sure - it was totally different to what I was used to hearing from them but after listening to it again, it was definitely a grower and it's probably my favourite album now (before, it was All We Know Is Falling) and I really love 'Be Alone'. Great review, I like how you've analysed every song and given an insight into what they're about :)
@ contrary to ordinary Thanks:3 "One Of Those (Crazy Girls)" has quite unique lyrics. Everyone seems to have different opinions on the song, its almost like the marmite of the album:L You either love it or hate it.
I liked this review :) I don't really agree that "One Of Those (Crazy Girls)" is one of the weak songs on the album. I actually like it the best and think it has the most potential. But either way, the review is well-written and pleasing to read.
Now & Still Into You are two of my other favorites on the album aswell. If I had to rate their self-titled CD one outta ten stars, I'd rate it ten fat golden stars!!! ^.^
