The Miracle Of 'Pacman Quack!'

The Miracle Of 'Pacman Quack!' A few years ago it was the Arctic Monkeys and now we've just waved goodbye to the Wombats as they entered their UK tour and come out the other end with a label. But up in North Yorkshire, the circle of music life starts again. This time an odd combination occurred and a band was born.

Four guys, a very addictive 80's video game and a picture of a duck on a bath towel = Pacman Quack!

One year ago Keifer-Drums, Dane - Bass, Joe Alexander - keys/Synch, and Moorah - Lead guitar were still taking baby steps into music. At a time when songwriter Joe was still just finding the right words to say in his lyrics and the rest of the lads were still meshing together, they had yet to find someone for vocals.

Then Jenna happened. The fourteen year old Yorkshire lass is a cross between Kelly Clarkson and post pop ew rock Hilary Duff, her voice carries across the stage effortlessly catapulted through the air in a kaleidascope of biting notes. She doesn't put a note out of line. Its pretty amazing to watch.

Their first headline on 29th April of this year was canceled, much to their fans disappointment, due to illness and they dutifully handed over the stage to their fellow performers. Their first official performance happened almost a month later at the 'Duchess' in York, and it brought crowds in, the majority of the audience were in fact there to see PQ! and you could tell by the expression on their faces as soon as the band took to the stage.

It's the re-birth of quirky 80's sound, refreshing and exciting. The kind of music you'd listen to on a road trip or from your University dorm room. They've recently recorded two of their songs, 'Don't You Know' and 'Wanting More' and are set to record a few others after their exams are over, it's refreshing to know they are balancing school and their passion for music well. The boys are seniors and are currently doing A-levels but are taking a gap year before Uni to keep the band alive.

They say their first experience on stage was such a euphoric moment and when you see them live you begin to understand why, as a member of the audience the euphoria is pretty high from our end, too!

Pacman Quack! Will be back on 31st July 2009, the 'Duchess' York. Come along and bring as many as you can fit in the cab! Listen to PQ! at PacmanQuack.
