Two Years And They're Still Setting It Off

Two Years And They're Still Setting It Off Set It Off started with a Youtube account that belonged to the lead singer, Cody Carson. His own personal fan base fell into his band’s and ever since they’ve done nothing, but grown. July 25,2010, band members Cody, Austin Kerr, Dan Clermont, and Zach Something, celebrated these past two years with a show fit to remember.

This show occurred at The Meatlocker, a small venue in Montclair, New Jersey. It’s trashed basement look gives almost a perfect atmosphere for the “Knights Of The Supper Happy Fun Round Table” Tour with bands Score 24 and Patent Pending. The only thing missing on this night was the band’s former drummer, Benji Panic. Recently, it has been stated that Benji no longer felt he should be in Set It Off and chose to leave the band by his own will.

Set It Off leaves their mark in their relationship with their fans. They do their best to talk to all of them, appreciate every single one goes to see them, and they all put one hundred percent of their hearts into every show they play. Two years of touring and recording has given the drive to continue, the crowd being what they live for.

8:00 P.M. The band sets up and the anticipation is growing. Score 24’s drummer is temporarily replacing Benji. During the show you can see the enjoyment they have for what they all do, it’s like nothing in the world matters except them putting as much into the show as they can and the crowd giving it back. They played a new song titled ‘Hush Hush’ for the first time that night, which will be on their new EP. The 30 minute set ended with ‘Pages and Paragraphs’ and Cody Carson fueled by the energy of the night jumped into the crowd. He was then gladly caught and put back on stage.

For anyone who attended the show, they know it was one to remember. The band promised an acoustic ‘I Promise’ at the end of the night to anyone who was still at the venue after Patent Pending played. Two years is an definite achievement for the band that is unsigned. The only support they have being their sponsors and their fans. Take a chance and give them a listen, you might just like what you hear.
