Alfred "Weird Al" Yankovic

Alfred "Weird Al" Yankovic One day in a public bathroom a young musician was recording a song called 'My Bologna' for The Dr. Demento Show; a novelty musical radio show. This man's name was Alfred Yankovic and this first parody was the start of his fame and signature food related humor.

After positive reception on radio and touring on The Dr. Demento Show, Alfred began pursuing a professional musical career. What really brought 'Weird Al' and his band to international attention- and gave him a reputation for food-based parodies- was when he parodied 'The King of Pop' Micheal Jackson's 'Beat It' with 'Eat It,' a song from a parent's point of view, telling a child to eat what he is given regardless of if he likes it or not.

All of Weird Al's following successful singles, characterized by his humor - which varies from how innocent the song sounds ('The Night Santa Went Crazy'), food-related humor ('Eat It' and 'Fat', among others), and its overall length ('Trapped In the Drive-Thru') led to a canceled television show that ran for only one season, a film mockumentary of his life, a lot of refused parodies, several music videos which often parody the original music video, several other films, and millions of sold albums.

Al's wit and humor never fails to amaze me. Weird Al is a parody artists who will always be remembered.
