Ghosts of Music's Future

This day in the age of music, bands are starting to sound like they are coming a dime a dozen. However, one emerging quartet are aiming to be something more than the average group of guys looking to get famous. In a recent interview with the band, I was able to obtain information about the upcoming success of a brand new act.

They call themselves Ghosts In The Mirror. Following the lead of many acts before them, Ghosts In The Mirror have a name derived from song lyrics. Taking their title from one of their biggest inspirations, Motionless In White, the group set up an idea of what fans can expect in their sound. They did this simply by using the words of such a dark goth rock/screamo act.

Ghosts In The Mirror are going for a very goth rock/screamo sound themselves. Keyboardist Caleb Wolves says of the sound, “We don’t have a sound yet but hope to have a screamo, metalcore, post-hardcore, goth sound.” Though the band is yet to form any songs, the individual talents of each member already represent promise for success.

The group consists of Gianni Zuniga (lead screamer), Tyler Aiden Zeo (bassist and vocalist), Christian Zapata (drummer), and Caleb Wolves (keyboardist). The interesting part? All four boys are teenagers. It is very rare that a group of adolescents doing heavy music make it in the creative world. However, with the motivation of Ghosts In The Mirror, it appears that nothing is going to stop them from making it big.

Not only are Ghosts In The Mirror making music for people, but they are also speaking to people; metaphorically, of course. Tyler Aiden Zeo explains “Well seeing as I’m a fellow BVB [Black Veil Brides] army member, personally I support their decision to help the outcasts…I would have to say we are there for the outcasts, suicidal teens or adults, anybody who’s ever felt less than what they want to be or just totally ignored and unloved. We aim to help anyone that has been persecuted for how they look, too. Basically, I think our record is for the ‘outcasts’ as well as people that have nobody to care for them. We’ve all experienced judgment; we are also [supporting] those people too. We are [a band] for anyone who’s gone through the same as us or worst.”

Tyler’s idea is not the only idea that the group has for Ghosts In The Mirror, however. Caleb Wolves has one main phrase that many kids in modern America can easily relate to. This is called Keeping A Secret You Never Wanted to Know. "Keeping A Secret You Never Wanted to Know is about how if you or anyone you know is being abused, you need to stand up and find help." Also, another idea that Wolves mentioned in the interview is Hate Is Thicker Than Water. "Hate Is Thicker Than Water is about, even though you may have a family that doesn’t care or is just horrible and you hate them, you always have those close friends to help you out and even us as a band to be your friend.” It is apparent that the band not only cares for music, but especially for the fans.

It is more than clear that the band has success written out for them. Their goals to be signed to a record label and touring with their favorite bands have a strong possibility of happening. Keep your eyes open for the future of Ghosts In The Mirror, because it is definitely much brighter than the dark clothing they intend to wear.
