Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows

Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, often abbreviated D.R.U.G.S, are a post hardcore band that formed in America in late 2009/early 2010 by ex-Chiodos singer Craig Owens. After Craig was let go from Chiodos, he has stated "I didn't know if I wanted to play music anymore. I was confused, and lost, and I was kind of left with myself. When you're left with yourself, you kind of figure out who you are, and what is you really, passionately care about, and what's important to you."

On his official Youtube page, he uploaded several videos announcing members to a new project, including From First To Last guitarist/vocalist Matt Good, Matchbook Romance drummer Aaron Stern, Underminded guitarist/vocalist Nick Martin, and Story Of The Year bassist Adam Russel. Craig first got in touch with Nick, having done many previous projects and tours with him. Aaron soon followed, receiving a call from Craig and being asked if he was interested in being in a new band. Matt Good was next. Nick states, "We had been listening to From First To Last records, just trying to get inspired by a record called Heroine. And we were just wondering 'what's Matt Good up to?'" Matt, having been friends with Craig for a long time, was reading updates from Craig about a new band, and curious, he contacted him via Twitter, asking if he needed a guitar player. Craig was ecstatic and accepted gladly. Members of Story Of The Year were on other projects and Adam had decided that he wanted to do something. The band's producer called up the band and introduced them to Adam.

Early 2010, the band went into the studio to begin rehearsing. Recording went smoothly due to the great chemistry and experience between the members, as well as "everybody being on their A-Game," Craig states. "Everybody came in and everybody knew their parts," Matt says. After rehearsal came time for tour, with everyone anxious and excited to get back onstage and perform. 2010 was mostly spent recording their debut, self-titled album.

On November 11, 2010, the band released their first song and video for a song titled "If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is." A music video which is dark, and features Craig suffering from what looks like some sort of split personality disorder. On December 6, 2010, the band released their second song "Mr. Owl Ate My Metal Worm." One of two song titles that is a Palindrome-a phrase that can be read the same in either direction. The other song being "Laminated E.T. Animal." On January 18, 2011, the band relased the song "Sex Life" which will be the first single, with fans currently awaiting the release of a music video. On January 31, 2011, the song "My Swagger Has A First Name" was released to those who pre-ordered the album. On February 22, 2011, the band's highly anticipated, first, full length, self-titled album was released. The album contains eleven songs, and those who ordered the album off iTunes received a bonus track entitled "A Little Kiss And Tell," the full music video for "If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is," and a mini-documentary.

The album has since gotten great reviews, and an overwhelming amount of positive feedback which the members have been greatly appreciative of. The record is positive, and upbeat, as Craig states, "it's all about who you wanna be, mixing with who you are, and finding the balance in between the two of them. That was a main theme throughout the whole record." Matt states, "what I get out of this band, and what I want people to see in this band is that you should never give up on your dreams, because all the people of this band have gone through a lot of crazy stuff and accomplished lots of things, but at the same time we could've easily given up."

You can catch DRUGS currently supporting Black Veil Brides on the AP tour, and on Warped Tour through July, and August.
