Long Live Brother!

Besides the usual pop rock band that we know nowadays, there is Viva Brother. Formerly known as Kill the Arcade, Wolf Am I and Brother in 2010 before they were sued by another band named 'Brother' also, forcing them to change their band name into 'Viva Brother'.

This English band comes from Slough, England. They were signed to Geffen Records and EMI Publishing. The members are Leonard (Lee) Newell on vocals and guitar, Samuel Jackson on guitar, Joshua (Josh) Ward on bass and Franklin (Frank) Colucci on drums.

"When we started this band, it was a result of looking back and finding the last great era of music - and that was Britpop," says vocalist and guitarist, Lee Newell. But they coined the label: 'Gritpop' because of the global mood [1].

The music that I hear from them reminds me of Oasis because there's something about them that draws me to them. Their song 'Time Machine' and 'False Alarm' are a good example of this. Viva Brother released their debut album called 'Famous First Words' on August 1, 2011. Their album peaked at #34 in its first week of release. Furthermore, they cited bands like The Smiths, The Pixies, Blur and The Stone Roses as their influences.

They also chat with their fans on Facebook (which I think is very cool). They have an official site called AcidLove.net. There, you can see their tour pictures, their music videos, their merch and their shows. You can also download their songs from there. They are also planning to release their second album before the end of 2012.
