Zedd

Now, on being a big fan of Zedd for a long time, when I heard he was finally coming out with a full blown ten tracked album, I was excited! Anton Zaslavski, born in Russia and moved to Germany at a young age, was raised by his parents who are both musicians and in his own words, 'he didn't have a choice' in his musical influence. He started off in a band with his brothers called 'Dioramic'. Anton played the drums, although he is skilled in playing guitar, piano and many other instruments. It's clear from Anton's musical upbringing that he is infact, musically talented.

After hearing Justice's album '†' (also known as 'Cross'), Anton was influenced to begin making his own music in th EDM scene. Going under the alias 'Zedd', which he created by using the first letter of his last name. His first single which was released in 2011 was 'The Anthem' which remixed by fellow EDM producer Lucky Date. On the single, 'Cold Blank Remix' is found as well. Following Autonomy, Anton decided to create 'Dovregubben', taking the electronic twist on the recognisable classical piece 'In The Hall Of The Mountain King' by Edvard Grieg. Probably his most known single, 'The Legend Of Zelda' remix was released in 2011 as well, bringing him a fan base due to the popularity of the growing EDM genre and the base of the game the remix was in fact based upon.

'Autonomy' which was remixed by Lucky Date once more, was released before The Anthem in 2011. Come 2012, Anton had began to get a name in the music industry. After releasing 'Shave It' (which came with a music video) as well as his last single of 2011, 'Stars Come Out', it boomed in popularity come 2012 as well as his first single of that year 'Slam The Door' which sampled Winnebago Man on YouTube. Anton's fanbase began to grow and so, the song 'Spectrum' feauting Matthew Koma was released and at this point, Anton announced he would be releasing an ten tracked album by the name 'Clarity'. Since it was his first proper album, the fan base found themselves excited and glad that Anton had finally decided to produce a variety of tracks in the one go.

He released the single 'Shotgun', which he explained was his experimental take on dubstep and so, received mixed reviews.

On the 18th of September 2012, he released a teaser.

Releasing the album 'Clarity', it was revealed that Anton had worked with many other artists, among them being Ellie Goulding, Foxes, Bright Lights, Ryan Tedder and Lucky Date. His album received many positive reviews and feedback as it reached the #1 spot on iTunes for 'Album of The Year'. From then on, he was rising to fame. Working with the likes of Lady Gaga and remixing her songs such as Marry The Night and producing Justin Bieber's 'Beauty And A Beat', it was clear that Anton was receiving the recognition he deserved.
