Emilie Autumn: The New Amy Lee?

Emilie Autumn: The New Amy Lee? Who is Emilie Autumn? Recently, my thirty-eight year old punk rocker uncle and I were discussing bands like Pantera and Blaqk Audio and he brought up the lady Emilie Autumn. I knew who she was. She was a goth model when I learned about her. I never knew that she was a singer until my uncle said she was one. We couldn't google her at that moment because movers had already packed my computer.

When I finally got the opportunity to check her out I was blown away by her voice and uniqueness. She has four CDs out currently. Those are named: "Enchant (2002), Opheliac (2005), A Bit O' This and That (2007), and, [i]Laced/Unlaced (2007)." I couldn't exactly describe how she sounds because it's so different. In one way I could describe her as something like a renaissance singer or goth singer because of a few songs she has written like "Rapunzel" and "Chamermaid" but I could also describe her as hardcore electronica because of her song "Opheliac" and "Misery Loves Company".

She's a stretch with my music taste even though I'm known to listen to things from techno to black metal. But with her it's hard to stop listening. Emilie Autumn is probably most known for her outrageous looks. With and without her make up she's hard to miss. With her make up she has bright, long red hair that is normally up in pigtails. Her trademark symbol though is probably the heart traced off from her eye. She wears heavy eyeliner as well.

If you like lots of underground music check out Emilie Autumn. She's amazing.
