Drowned Wednesday

Drowned Wednesday The Pirates were probably the element that made this third instalment of The Keys to the Kingdom Series, much better then the stories prior to it. Though it follows the same basic structure as the other two books, the addition of Pirates and talking rats made this story more readable.

Drowned Wednesday also had a more exciting start than the other two, with Arthur and his friend Leaf being quite literally dragged from the hospital to the house.

”I can hear something”, said Leaf. “Kind of like a train”.

Arthur heard it too. A distant thunder that got louder and louder. “That’s not a train! Grab hold of the bed!”

Drowned Wednesday is also a much nicer Trustee for a change. After inviting Arthur to lunch he discovers she was betrayed by the other Trustees and can only use the power of the key to stop herself growing any larger while she attempts to suppress her large appetite. He is also informed her part of the Will was stolen by the evil pirate, Feverfew and Arthur, accompanied by his trusty friend Suzy Turquoise Blue have to set off to find it.

Drowned Wednesday is arguably one of the best books of the Keys to the Kingdom series, though it is not anything totally amazing. But at least this time, it won’t bore you to tears like Monday and Tuesday are capable of doing.
