Dan Brown's "Angels and Demon" and the Ideas Inside

Dan Brown's "Angels and Demon" and the Ideas Inside Dan Brown is a great author. In MY opinion, "Angels and Demons" was a great, creative adventure. When I read this book, I felt as though I was on the sidelines of all the action and adventure. I have found many points in the book that I think should be discussed.

Brown may come across to most people as an anti-religious author. Others may see him as a Catholic author, or at least a Christian author. Now, this matter can go both ways. I personally am undecided.

This brings me to one of the points in the book that I want to bring into the light. Brown played both sides perfectly. Brown had a character that believed science was the answer and that faith was not needed and that God was just an excuse for the problems in the world that are unexplainable. This character was totally against religion throughout the entire book. This later lead up to an action this character did, but I will not ruin the story for those of you who have not read it yet. The other character, the main one, was all for religion. He was the one who defended the faith, but was not very strong in the Catholic faith. This character help defend the Catholic church throughout the whole story.

I am a strong Catholic and this character was necessary for me to keep reading. If the whole book just had a character against the Catholic church, or better yet God in general, I would not have read the story.

Other than the points of religion in the book, Brown did a wonderful job creating a conspiracy in the Catholic church. With this idea, he put in a lot of creativity and it showed well. He had many ideas and this created a great thriller/adventure book.

I would have to say my most favorite idea put into the book was all the historical places and documents and people that were mentioned throughout the whole book. I learned many historical facts about the places and people in Italy currently and in the past. I am not trying to make this book sound as though it is a documentary full of boring old facts, but it is intertwined with fact and fiction, which in MY opinion, made this book so wonderful and unique in every way.

I think that everybody, Catholic or not, should read this story. This book is the prequel to Dan Brown's "DaVinci Code". I guarantee that at least 8 out of the 10 readers of this book will think it is one of the best books they have read. I hope that when you guys read, or if you read "Angels and Demons" you will pick up on what I am talking about in this article and appreciate all the historical significance of the places visited in this book. Please try this book and take on a new adventure while reading "Angels and Demons".
