Quad

Quad Three cheers for Quad. A novel of peer pressure, school bullying, and the need to fit in; this covers all the bases. Quad captures a unique side of a story not many other books have before. The best book I have seen about school violence.

See what it's really like going through school. High school: some of the greatest and worst years of your life. This book will move you. Even if you have not been in high school, are in it, or have already gone through it. It will move you to realize everyone has troubles. Everyone has problems.

Starting with weeks before a tragic event it follows 6 cliques in High school leading to the terrible tragedy in the end. Preps, Jocks, Freaks, Techies, Drama Queens, and Choir Boys. Ken, Calvert, Ranger, Maggie, Sage, and Christopher. They all end up linked in the end to the person who finally snapped. The person who finally picked up a gun. 6 kids from 6 cliques in one room scared for their lives.

Written by C.G. Watson - her first book. She is also a teacher, musician and a songwriter. For her first book, I would say A+. It is outstanding, amazing, and wonderful. Written with the closeness that you feel as if you are there right in the moments in the book. A perfect book of realization for teenagers: that every action triggers a reaction.
