Patiently Alice

Patiently Alice In Patiently Alice, Alice goes to Camp Overlook as a assistant-counselor. She is partnered with one of her best friends Gwen in a cabin full of 6 girls ages 7-10.

She finds there is a lot of responsibility in watching 6 girls at a time. She uses her wits and her skills to get her through camp. Silvia went off to help her sister recover and Alice is going berserk that the wedding had to be postponed.

She likes Camp Overlook and doesn't want to leave but she knows she belongs at home to set things up while Silvia is gone. When she arrives she is in for a rude awakening. Patrick leans on her for support and Alice doesn't know what to do. Yes they were friends now but, still.

Pamela's mother decides to return after running away with another man and wants to come back into Pamela's life as well as her dad's but her dad won't believe anything her mother says. Pamela hardly talks about how her family is now.

Elizabeth seems to have a strain on her family as well. Parents seem to not be getting along with her as well as they would hope. It probably hurts to see Elizabeth's baby brother on better terms with her than them, Alice thought at one time. But now her world was changing and she couldn't take it all in at once.

Elizabeth becomes a whole new person after coming back from camp. She has a secret also. Will she tell Alice and Pamela? Will she tell Gwen?

As always Phyllis Naylor captures readers by this exciting, fun, sad filled book of emotions.
