Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga: Devil Worship, or Fun?

Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga: Devil Worship, or Fun? I have read all of the Harry Potter books and all the Twilight saga and have seen all the movies that have come out based off of them. But, recently, I found out a few of my friends are not allowed to read the Harry Potter books or the Twilight Saga, and refuse to even say the name. Why? They say it's Devil worship.

Now, books are books, and these ones are fictional, so why would they say that?

As for Harry Potter, they say it is devil worship because of the witch-craft in it. Also, they have said many signs are in there that it is devil worship, take Voldemort drinking the unicorns blood for example. Now, in satanism, blood plays a big part, and with Voldemort drinking it, only proves it is devil worship, especially since it's a unicorns blood, the unicorn is the symbol for the New Age Religion. The scriptures also forbid drinking blood, which also proves Harry Potter is devil worship.

The fact that Dumbledore practiced alchemy is also supposed to prove that it is devil worship, for the supposed goal of an alchemist is to achieve eternal life through self-transformation, and what else can eternal life be blamed upon but witch-craft? The book “The Sorcerer's Stone,” is the supposed final stage to achieve eternal life. In this book, the ancient study of alchemy is parallel with making the Sorcerer's Stone, a legendary substance with amazing powers. The stone is to transform any metal into pure gold. It also produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal. Also, Rowling has made the stone out to be 666 years old. As most know 666 is consistent with devil worship and anarchy. And supposedly since Rowling ties this number to the Elixir of Life, Harry Potter is teaching children that the way to achieve eternal life is to obey the devil and anarchist along with their mark.

Apparently wizards and witches and alchemists are the disciples of Satan.

As for Twilight, I asked my friend why she thinks it is Devil worship. And she replied; "I don't think it's devil worship, I think it's sin. And, it clearly states that in the beginning of the book, with the bible quote and all saying 'But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest there of thou shalt surely die.' And, vampires drink blood, which is forbidden and practiced by satanists. If I read that, I would surly go to hell for the vastness of the sin of reading it, when Stephanie Say's it's sin in the beginning of the book, for those who willingly sin, there is no hope to get into heaven. She's making it innocent and trying to poison the youth of today, and that is also sin, wrath."

Vampires, in most folk lor are the "Sons of Satan", being they have his blood in their veins. Also vampires are commonly associated with sex, which by the bible is a sin, adultery. Is is also a common legend that vampires are protected by "The Hell Hounds" which, are just what they seem to be, Werewolves. Yet, in Twilight there are none, and the Werewolves are actually pretty much at was with the Vampires.

That, brings up another topic, the Werewolves; by definition a living person that turns into a large, out of control, blood crazy wolf. In more common legends, they can only transform, unwillingly, under the light of a full moon. However, in some legends, the wolves have control over their power to morph and can do it willingly without a full moon. They can be found in all of the Twilight books and are the supposed enemy and in certain legends the faithful companions of vampires. You can supposedly become a Werewolf by doing either of these: Making a pact with the Devil; his magic for your faith, by being bit by a werewolf, or a witch can supposedly make a salve to turn you into one. All three are forbidden though by the bible, blood drinking must take place in order for a bite to have been placed, using witch-craft, and giving your soul to the Devil.

Werewolves are associated with murder, which by the bible is a sin. They would supposedly lure fair medians out of their homes and into the woods, where they would kill and later eat them.

So, are these books devil worship? In my opinion, no. They are fictional books, meant for pure fun and enjoyment. If they were, there would be more graphic depictions of what happens within them. If these people want others to follow them, they would do more then just publish some books. The very idea of it being devil worship, or at least the way I see it is silly and hardly practical. These books are based off of old legends and myths passed down from generation to generation.

But, what you think is not for me to say.
