Annie on My Mind
Annine on My Mind, written by Nancy Garden, is the story of two loves. Two very unique loves in a new form.
The story starts out in New York, with Liza Winthrop, a student to a prestigious private school and dreams of becoming an architect. One day, on a walk through the Metropolitan Museum of Art, she comes across a young girl, Annie Kenyon, an aspiring singer attending a public school on the bad side of town.
The two girls take friends and have many twists and turns that anyone could relate to. Pain, crushes, hate, secrecy and of course, the ever recurring theme, sexuality. Questions tear through them and bring them closer.
I won't give away the ending, but I have to say, it was a beautiful book. Anyone would like it, whether they are of a different orientation or just find this sort of thing interesting. It's quite sad, and very touching. You will fall in love with the characters, and possibly be able to fit into their shoes giving any situation. It may or may not jerk tears from your eyes with its passion, purity, and overall, love.
You won't be wasting your time when you pick up the book.
