City of Bones

City of Bones When Clary Fray, your average 15 year old, heads out with her best friend Simon to a dance club Pandemonium, she hardly expects to witness a murder - especially not one by 3 teenagers brandishing bizarre weapons and distinguishing tattoos. Although, it is hard to call the police to a murder when the body has disappeared into thin air. Within 24 hours, Clary is pulled into Jace Wayland's world with the Shadowhunters in vengeance, when her mother disappears and she is attacked by a demon.

But the question is - why would these demons be interested in mundanes like her and her mother? Or, are they mundanes?

I find that the book was slightly hard to carry on reading; the story line is stretched and stretched using problem after problem, so there is really no breathing point. But on the flipside, the storyline is very extraordinary and utterly gripping, and the characters are extremely witty and have a good attitude.

Overall, the book is a nice novel to read when you have lots of time - definitely not a light book. It carries on in a series of 4; City of Bones, City of Glass, City of Ashes and an upcoming book to complete the series, City of Fallen Angels. The series is going to be made into a movie, and information on this is yet to be released to the public.

My rating is 3/5.
