Dancing Naked Dancing Naked is a heart wrenching novel about a sixteen year old girl called Kia, who finds out she is pregnant, and leads you through her journey.

Apon finding out the news that she is pregnant, Kia's world is shaken, but she soon comes to understand the fact that there is another human growing inside her, and what she must do about it.

At first she is convinced that she must have an abortion, because she is scared that the baby is going to ruin her future plans and aspirations. But she soon realizes that that may not be the best option, and that there may actually be better ways to deal with the unborn child, than to have an abortion.

Shelly Hrdlitschka takes you through the time line of the pregnancy, and the battles Kia goes through. Kia finds out who her real friends are, and just where their loyalty really lies. As she loses friends, she gains new, more mature friends. Kia befriends an elderly lady called Grace, who has seen Kia play the piano, and from that Grace figures out that something is wrong. Grace helps Kia learn to trust and believe in herself, and makes her realize the responsibility one must have to lead their own life.

As Kia is faced with one of the maybe one of the most difficult decisions in her life, she realizes that the path to adulthood is nothing like she thought, but actually a roller coaster ride that twists and turns, has massive ups and frightful lows. She learns to understand that every decision she makes in life in another path that can open new opportunities.
