Divergent

Divergent is a heartbreaking story full of betrayal, thought-wrenching decisions, terrible consequences, with a bit of romance thrown in. Beatrice, or Tris, is sixteen years old, which is the age that everyone in her world has to figure out who they are and where they fit into society. This choice defines them in many ways. There are five factions. Abnegation is the faction that she is from, the other four include: Dauntless, Erudite, Candor and Amity. One of the things that I liked most about this book was Beatrice's (Tris) character development. In the beginning Tris was whiny, but towards the end she became stronger and more courageous.

The romance in this book was really boring, and was really unnecessary for the story. It didn't fit into the plot and it seemed like the author was trying to mirror Twilight's success, by throwing in some lovey dovey crap. For example, when Four and Tris had their love scene, it really didn't give me a good picture in my mind. It made me kind of nauseous.

Overall, it was a really fantastic book. I recommend this book to people who liked, Delirium, The Uglies, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Twilight and Matched.
