Twilight.
Twilight is the first novel in a series of wonderful books by Stephenie Meyer (Pronounced my-er). It starts off with Isabella Swan, or Bella, as she prefers, who moved to Forks, Washington, from Phoenix, Arizona. The first day she attended Forks high school everyone welcomed her warmly. Some, a little too warmly. All the boys wanting to walk her to classes and all the girls wanting to sit beside her and talk to her. Through half of the day, she felt a little comfortable in Forks. Then, she saw him. Edward Cullen, the gorgeous, mysterious boy who sits with his family, alone. The pale, dark eyed, bronze haired Greek god.
He doesn’t stare or follow her around like a puppy. On the contrary, he all but ignores her. Of course, she feels intimidated and asks the girl next to her for some information. An hour passes and she is in biology. She sees him sitting beside the only seat empty, so, of course, she's got to sit there. In short, he gives her the 'cold shoulder'. She feels strangely upset about the strange boy's behavior. A week, or so, passes and Edward isn't in school. He returns at the first snow day. Bella begins to panic when her biology class is coming sooner and sooner. Suddenly, Edward starts being nice to her and Bella doesn't understand it. Later, Edward saved her life. Bella is even more curious about the boy. She wants to find out more about him. They soon grow closer, and become friends. Then, Bella goes to a beach party, and hears a boy she's known for a long time; tell a story about Vampires and Werewolves. Everything suddenly clicks in Bella's mind. Edward. The Cullens. They're vampires.
Bella soon, talks with Edward about what she found out. They soon become more and more close, and end up dating. As the story progresses, they've fallen in love with each other. Practically inseparable, it seems. Near the end, Bella gets threatened by a vampire named James. The hunt begins and Bella runs for her life. Soon, Bella gives up, and decides to meet James at a long-forgotten place. He very nearly kills her when Edward shows up. Luckily, Bella survives. The book ends with Edward dragging Bella to the prom and an old friend dropping off an unforgettable message. An amazing read.
