So B. It

So B. It Before I tell you about this amazing plot, I will tell you that it is mysterious and amazing and the one reason I kept reading was because I wanted so badly to see everything fall into place and make sense.

The suspense and wonder kept me addicted and I read the whole thing in only a couple hours, give or take.

Heidi is twelve and she lives with her agoraphobic (fear of the outdoors) neighbor and her mentally challenged mother.

Her neighbor, Bernadette, took care of this strange woman and child who "appeared to have fallen from the sky", while having her own problems. She cannot leave her home without collapse and feeling the sensation of drowning.

Her mother says her name is So B. It and she only says 27 words. She doesn't learn well and can easily be bribed with jujifruits and jello.

One of her 27 words is soof. It sounds unfamiliar to everyone, no one understands why she says it, and it doesn't even appear in foreign dictionaries.

Heidi finds photos and her mother points of one and repeatedly says soof, but offers Heidi tea when she asks what soof is.

Heidi is plagued by this mysterious word of her mother's imagination, losing sleep over it.

The pictures contain a location that Heidi is determined to find, meeting fascinating people along the way.

This book is amazing, and I highly recommend it. For the first half of the book, more and more pieces into the mystery of the origin of So B. It are uncovered, but they only build up the suspense. I found myself feeling everything right along with Heidi, and feeling relieve and excited every time something new made sense.

The whole book was amazing; it did not have a slow beginning like many books. The ending seemed complete, but the last major event really made me angry.

Read it. Or forever wonder what soof is.
