Lord Loss

Lord Loss The story is told from the eyes of Grubbs Grady, an Irish boy who’s living, without suspicion in a web of secrets. Though Grubbs begins to suspect something’s up when his mother, father and sister start talking about him behind his back. Though he doesn’t discover what until it’s too late.

One night, while his family attend the ballet; Grubbs goes to stay at his Aunt’s house he sneaks home to find out what’s really going on; only to find his parents and sisters have been brutally murdered by Demons; none other than the Demon Master Lord Loss and his favoured familiars, the horrific Artery and Vein.

Grubbs, choosing to stick by his unbelievable story that his parents were slaughtered by Demons is sent to live in Carcery Vale with his Uncle, Dervish Grady – the only man who believes him; a man who’s an expert on the matters of the occult. Whilst living in the Vale Grubbs befriends Bill-E Spleen. Yet when the two friends witness Dervish behaving strangely they come up with a theory about werewolves, a theory which uncovers the Grady family’s many secrets and brings Grubbs face to face with the monster which ruined his life…

This book, though short and somewhat predictable is so incredibly well written and opens the door to a much bigger, better adventure.
