Carmen by Carole Fréchette

Carmen by Carole Fréchette Can one day define your life? For one young girl, her life was turned inside out. On a gloomy Valentine’s day, Carmen’s stomach twists and turns as she though about the presentation she had to give in social studies about antique statues. She hated public speaking. To top it all off, it was the day of the Valentines Dance that was held in the gym. Her stomach made flips as she though of the action she had committed the day before. Was she willing to go through with asking her crush to the dance?

Deciding that maybe it wasn’t the best of ideas, she skips school, shoplift terrible over-priced lipsticks, meets a rock start in Laundromat that oozed sex appeal, and tells the world that all she ever wanted was to be loved. Through out her journey, she tastes coffee for the first time, gets snuck into a club, all on the unruly road to her self discovery.

This quirky tale of a young girl on her way to find out who really she is, will make you believe in yourself and that you are worth something in the end. All you need is a microphone shove in your face, asking you what you really want from life.
