Juno

Juno Juno is a film about a 16-year-old independent girl who unexpectedly gets pregnant. After being quilted out of getting an abortion, Juno decides to put the baby up for adoption and starts looking for a suitable couple to take the baby from her after she gives birth. The story follows her through the ups and downs of pregnancy, throughout which she has to figure out if she really does love the father of her child Paulie Bleeker, and deal with the obvious attraction to the soon-to-be father of the child Mark Lorring.

The plot is original, there aren't many films out there about teenage pregnancy, and any that you find would probably be about some blond prep, whereas Juno is about a rock-chick and goes against most stereotypical high school films. Writer Diablo Cody said "Women are clever, women are funny, women are sharp, and I wanted to show that these girls were human and not the stereotypical teenage girls that we often see in the media" Juno also touches on subjects like abortions and adoption as well as the main theme of having a teen pregnancy, and has been praised considerably for it.

Actress Ellen Page, who plays the lead role of Juno, otherwise known for her role in the 2005 thriller Hard Candy was perfect for this part, as she has been likened to Juno by the director Jason Reitman.

Special features on the DVD include; Deleted scenes; Bloopers; A gag reel; Screen tests; And interviews with the cast. The film runs for a total of 96 minutes, and it keeps you interested all the way through, with its witty and sharp comedy. Both teens and parents alike will enjoy it. Its a highly recommended watch.
