The Black Parade Really Is Dead

The Black Parade Really Is Dead I begged my mom to take me to Hottopic so I could buy, "The Black Parade Is Dead!" Trekking our way through hoards of people going to shop for whatever they wanted or needed. We walked through the halls and made our way to the doorway of Hot topic, where we snagged the last copy of, "The Black Parade Is Dead!"

The clerk rung all that we bought that day up, gave us our bag, said, "Have a nice day," and sent us on our merry way. I could not wait to get home and watch the DVD and listen to this CD. Nothing could spoil the mood I was in.

Apparently, that wasn't so.

As we pulled onto the highway, I opened the case and pulled my way through the clear plastic that surrounded the brown and black case. I threw it to the ground as I opened it and saw two CD's: one really, a DVD, and the other, the live CD that accompanies it.

I then pulled out the little booklet that came with the DVD/CD set. It had pictures of the band, and other things inside. I was happy to see it. In fact, I was delighted to see the album art, and to hold [the album] in my hand.

Soon we were back in my neighborhood, pulling into my driveway. Before my mom could have the car at one hundred percent standstill, I was out the door, flying up two flights of steps, into my bedroom... Well maybe not that fast, but you get the picture.

I popped in the DVD from the set into my DVD player, waited for the menu with all the options came on, pressed play, and waited for the DVD to begin.

First on the screen, that automatically bored me, and made me anxious for more -at the same time- was the band, coming out, and giving themselves, as well as the members of the crew high-fives, which is deserved greatly, for all that they do to make the My Chemical Romance shows a success.

They then walked through a hallway, as Gerard Way, their lead singer, for those of you who do not know, was getting dressed in a "patient's nightgown." The band, was then announced and came out, one by one, and settled at their correct instruments.

The music began to play, as Gerard Way, was wheeled out onto the stage on a gurney, which was pushed by a person who looked to be a doctor. Or at least, someone who was wearing a doctor's outfit.

Way, slowly moved the mic to his mouth and began to sing the words for the song, "The End." When the climactic, and humongous instrumentals began, Way ripped off his outfit, and showed his normal, "The Black Parade" outfit.

That's when things got boring, and just didn't do the things for me, I thought it would.

For most of the DVD, or at least until "I Don't Love You" which was the part I got up to, before turning it off in complete boredom and disgust at how horrible this DVD was, it was a boring performance, sure, there were fireworks, and audience participation, but nothing that makes you go, "Wow! They did it again!" I'm highly disappointed with this CD. It wasn't worth the seventeen dollars I paid for it.

The live CD was exactly the same thing, it was just the music clips from the songs of the final "Black Parade" performance, with "Blood" at the very end (in shortened version, making the song, a minute and some odd seconds long),

This CD/DVD combo really isn't worth any fans' money, or time. I'm sorry, My Chemical Romance, but I just didn't feel it.
