High School Musical

High School Musical If you like music, singing, dancing, friendship, mischief and love then High School Musical is the movie for you!

When Troy Bolton (Zac Efron, Hairspray) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens, High School Musical 2) meet each other on New Years Eve by having to sing a karaoke song together at a party, they never realized it would actually be the start of something new!

They start back at school and Troy is surprised to see that Gabriella is at the same school as him because her mother and her had to move because of her mother's job, leading her to start at a new school.

Troy is the leader in the basketball team he is in with his friends named the 'Wildcats' and his dad is the school coach. His dad and friends don't know about the singing side of Troy and are much too focused on the championship game they're playing in a few weeks to be able to handle anything else on their minds, and they expect Troy to be the same. Whereas Gabriella does know the other part of him which is why he feels so comfortable around her because he knows she won't mock him.

They both end up auditioning for a duet role in the school's winter musical, much to the dismay of Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale, High School Musical 2) and Ryan (Lucas Grabeel, High School Musical 2) Evans, brother and sister who are the head of the drama club and always star as the leading roles in the school's musicals. But with the help of Kelsi (Olesya Rulin, High School Musical 2) the composer of all the songs in the play, Troy and Gabriella get into shape for the callbacks to decide which pair will get the leading role.

Sharpay is the most popular girl in school and she won't stand for what has happened therefore she tries to put events in the way to stop them being able to get to the callbacks in time so that Troy and Gabriella won't be able to perform. Troy and Gabriella's friends also team together to try and separate the two because all the musical business is getting in the way of other things they're supposed to be doing.

Are they successful? Do Troy and Gabriella's friends accept them for what they want to be and do? To find out you'll just have to watch!

Also starring Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman, this is one of the greatest musicals to be made in a long time and should definitely not be missed!
