Metro Station In Sydney

Metro Station In Sydney Metro Station’s first concert in Australia certainly made an impact on the young Sydney audience. Performing at the Roundhouse on the 4th of October, they drew a massive crowd.

The show was sold out and with a crowd ranging in age from around 12-20 years old, the line outside was more of a mosh pit, as everyone was eager to be the first inside. Once doors were open, fans streamed in to be at the front of the stage. For a venue that strictly prohibits moshing and crowd surfing, nothing was being done to stop everyone pushing, shoving and fighting their way to the front to be as close to the band as possible.

Support band Missing Hours created lots of noise, but despite their talent the audience just couldn’t really get into them. Most had their attention on the side of the stage, waiting for the headlining band to come on.

It seemed that Metro Station had won over the crowd even before they had stepped onto the stage, with deafening screams filling the room when the lights started to dim. The boys came on with lots of liveliness and enthusiasm and kicked of the show by playing ‘Disco’. Fans who didn’t even know the words were jumping up and down.

Front men of the band Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso, were very interactive with the crowd, stopping between every song to talk to the audience and get them involved. They proceeded to play other favourites such as ‘Kelsey’ and ‘Seventeen Forever’, and Metro Station had the crowd hanging off every lyric. They left the stage and after the crowd began chanting that the band come back on and play ‘Shake It’, one of the band’s most popular songs, all four boys returned to the stage with Trace seemingly having misplaced his top and Mason with a cigarette in hand. If the girls weren’t already screaming, they were now.

The amazing vocals from Trace and Mason and the stage energy that each member possessed made the show much more enjoyable. It was a fantastic performance for their first time in Australia, and the band will be returning in February next year to play with The Veronicas.
