Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Welcome to the world of Monster Hunter, friends! Here in this massive world of excellent graphics and intense game play lies a new adventure that awaits your arrival. That's right, hunters - there is another addition to the already enormous Monster Hunter franchise! Monster Hunter Freedom Unite hit stores on June 23, 2009 in the United States.

In the exciting world of Monster Hunter, it was just you and your weapon. What weapon, you ask? Well, there is an amazing array of equipment available to your rambunctious hunter. At the start of your character's life as a monster hunter, each character is given starter equipment. These are the standard issue weapons, meaning that you can not plunge into battle with the strongest of creatures just yet. These basic armaments were granted onto your character so that you - yes, you - may adjust to their fighting styles. It is your choice what weapon you want to specialize in, but you can always change them out when you return home from a quest. There are so many choices - there are giant hammers, great sword, bows, lances, and many more to choose from!

As I have mentioned earlier, the weapons are there for the player to adjust to. There are many different fighting styles, tactics, and combos just waiting to be unleashed on any foe you may come across. In all essence, Monster Hunter is your run-of-the-mill RPG game. You have to hunt for money, hunt for equipment, and battle to progress the ghost of a storyline the game possesses. How did it become so popular, you ask? Simple: the game play. Your character does not earn experience or improve in his attack and health, save for the equipment and upgraded weapons you use. In the world of Monster Hunter, the player is sent deep into the very heart and soul of the game. The tiny, digital character on your PsP screen is just a representation of the player. It takes tactical thinking, quick reflexes, and timing to execute a perfect take down in this game. You think it is easy? Try going up against a four hundred foot dragon with nothing but a kitchen knife - that is exactly how your battles will be in this challenging game!

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite has, so to say, been "nerfed." The overall health of all gigantic bosses in the game has been reduced significantly. To ease your troubles, there has also been a neat addition for the game. You get to hire a comrade to help you out when you're flying solo! Don't get your hopes up though - the comrades you can hire are cats (or "Felynes" as they are called in Monster Hunter). You still have to rely on your wit, quick thinking, and ability to press buttons to progress in this game. In addition to these loyal warriors, you can hop on-line using an internet connection to quest with nearby hunters! However, you will not be able to bring your Felyne Comrade with you when playing on line. These Felynes are both a warrior and a chef. That's right, a chef. These chefs feed you food after each successful mission (for a fee, of course!) that will boost up your various stats such as health or stamina. Every little detail goes right into a boss battle; namely, every point of stamina, every point of health and defense, and your surroundings are huge factors in your outcome. If you climb up onto a ledge and try to swing your sword around at a monster that sticks low to the ground, how can you accomplish anything? And if you do happen to be on the same level as your prey, how can you chop it down if your character gets too tired? Everything - from hunger, clothing, and your character's cleanliness - is thrown into this game. It is your task to win it while considering all of these. I wish you luck in your battles, oh mighty Monster Hunter!
