Metro 2033

Metro 2033 METRO 2033 is a game adaptation of the book of the same name.
The adaptation has been changed slightly- the names and a few places but it still managed to capture my heart as a game the same way it did the novel. Although the producers of the game would disagree with me; the game is a psychological thriller- thrill ride more like.

The game is set in the metro stations of Russia, this is after a nuclear holocaust above ground- we never really find out why.

You play as a character called Artyom, his aim is to journey through the Metro to find help for his station. The game offers a brilliant range of weapons- from revolvers to machine guns and shotguns. The combat system is thoroughly enjoyable if a little slow.

The good thing about the game is that it offers a more complex way of combat. The combat offers an exciting but small range of enemies to shoot and the impressive system of survival- MED KITS and you are given a torch and night vision goggles, the brilliant thing is that both of these things need to be charged using a hand charger, great for some gamers but a bane for the gamers who don't like stopping to do things.

The game offers a few shocks throughout and manages to throw in enemies from; Nazis and communists to mutants. The whole story is enjoyable but the ending is clearly rushed and forgets to tie off the rest of the story in game.

The game is a short one unfortunately, I was able to complete it in 6 hours and much like many games nowadays it doesn't have an on-line. Rating: 6/10
