The Sims Medieval - Comments

• I have to disagree with you, sorry. I'm a avid 'Simmer', have been from the very first Sims and if any of them are bad, it's Sims 3. What you have to understand is Sims Medieval was never meant to be a 'sequel', it's a whole different game, just under the Sims title. While yes, it can be limited, it's still very fulfilling. It's always going to be down to personal taste, what one person dislikes, someone else will love.

The game has more of a story line behind it than the other Sims did. Instead of just getting a job, finding a partner, making some babies and cheating death, you actually have to run the town and try your best not to peeve anyone off. You make people love or hate you, you decide how you want other 'countries' to think of you. There's actually more to the game, I find anyway, than just meandering around. It's more RPG than anything. One really shouldn't compare it to the other Sims. I've recently installed the expansion: Sims Medieval: Pirates & Nobles; & find it adds a whole new dimension, not just with the ability to buy and use falcons and parrots, but with new quests, wars, treasure hunting and a new array of clothes, items, spells, everything.

I, personally, wouldn't write the game off, and I'm a writer and a creative person with an attention span. The games not as bad as you make it seem and anyone thinking of buying it should. It's always better to form a personal opinion. Just, if you're a gamer like me, be prepared for many late(early) nights, I've lost a lot of sleep getting swept up in this game. Just one more quest! Besides the usual EA glitches, this game is actually pretty awesome.

• The reason why I love Sims Medieval is because I thought Sims 3 was the worst out of all the Sims.

• Woowwww.... I was never really interested in the game, but this is just making it all the more reason not to be interested. But to tell the truth, it didn't look half as good as the other Sim installments. It looked a bad compilation of computerized medieval movies. L.

• Oh-My-God.... I am so confused now~! I really, really want that game, but after seeing this I am not sure. I have a VERY short attention span. I love sims 3, actually I have had almost all of the sims games, I am missing a few of the sims 3 games, I am still undecided if I want this game, or if I want to buy another version of sims 3...

I might not decide until I have the money and this game or another game in my hand... Thanks for the review though! This will play a part in my decision.

• When I first got The Sims Medieval I was actually addicted to it...for only about three days though. I took the disk out of my laptop, and started playing The Sims 3: Late Night again, and pretty much forgot about Sims Medieval.

• I have been following "The Sims Medieval"'s progression and have found that, really, the game was never supposed to be just like "The Sims". The interfaces, story lines and concept are much different than the good ol' "The Sims 1/2/3" games.

However, I do agree that the game seems a bit limited and that, if you're wanting something just like The Sims 3, the game's not for you.

• Great review!
But I have to say, I'm going to get it anyway. I've been looking forward to it for a long time now and I can't wait to play it! Even if some things are wrong with it, it's a game. I'm really excited for it :)

• Thanks for posting this. I needed a review for myself. I thought about getting it, and now that I've read this, I'm not so sure I want this anymore.

• This is a good article, but I think I'm still going to get it. I love Medieval times, so I want to do something like that.

• I quite enjoy the game. It's limited, sure, as you can't actually build anything yourself and you are given certain quests, but there still is a sandbox mode when you're free to do as you like rather than follow the quests, and there is still a lot of customisation available.

The only thing that irks me is that, as usual with EA, there are glitches and bugs everywhere. I can't finish a certain quest because the next stage of it simply doesn't happen in the game... ridiculous.

• I knew it was gonna be dumb by the case but I almost bought it. I'm soo glad I didn't. Also, great review! Keep it up!

• I think I'm still going to get this game, due to the fact that I heard similar reviews about Sims 3 from other sources. But, I will keep in mind your critiques.

• Aw :( that's so disappointing. I'm a history buff, so, although it is just a game, I got kind of excited when I saw it :/ I'm glad I won't have to waste my money now.
