Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the final installment of the Ezio trilogy and was released in 2011 as a historical action-adventure. The protagonist Ezio is back and is on a journey to unlock assassin Altair Ibn La-Ah'ad's vault in Masyaf using artifacts that contain Altair's memory and secrets that can make or break the future of the world.

Plot

Featuring the three major characters in the previous games, modern day Desmond, 12th century Altair and 13th century Ezio are all tied in the final installment of the sequel's trilogy. Ezio now finds himself in Constantinople and discovers that Altair has sealed an ancient artifact within a vault that is said to be powerful enough to end the Templar-Assassin war forever.

Throughout the game, Ezio uses these relic like keys found within Constantinople to re-live Altair's memories and experiences. From the ending of Brotherhood does Ezio not only find new journey's and friends but true evil that slips through the surface and gives him nothing more than an ultimatum that can end all evil or the innocence in which he struggles desperately to protect.

Overall

I was constantly stuck in places mainly because I was too busy looking at the beautiful graphics this game consisted of. I swear, Assassin's Creed never fails in making me gape at such beauty. As an open-world game, it really satisfies not only with the plot but the surrounding area. Running around like a mad man on the streets was really not a problem for me.

It was really hard for me to finish the game only because the Ezio Trilogy was something I was very much attached to. Character development is just amazing. You remember Ezio in Assassin's Creed II as a naïve and very thick-headed teen that went through horrible things and came out as a mature (though sassy and flirtatious) being in the end.

I also loved how we went back and forth between Ezio's perspective as well as Altair's. As Assassin's Creed felt much like we left Altair's life at a cliffhanger, we find closure through Ezio who goes back to relive the previous assassin's remaining days. Bitter-sweet but perfect.
