This Is Spinal Tap

This Is Spinal Tap Released in 1984, This Is Spinal Tap follows the glam-metal rock group, Spinal Tap, through their comeback tour of America. The band meets one misfortune after another, including the infamous 18-inch Stonehenge stage prop.

The movie is a parody of all glam-rock eighties bands, making gags at the spoiled dressing room needs of the band members to scandal and controversy over an allegedly sexist album cover, all the while shoving the main characters into believably awkward and memorable scenes.

Filled with realistic behind-the-scenes footage, actual recorded songs (and "live" footage of the band performing them), and hilarious interviews with the band, you might actually think Spinal Tap was an actual rock band.

The band consists of David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer). The band's hysterically unlucky back story of the cursed drummer position results in a replacement drummer every other tour. The band's hit songs, such as Sex Farm and Big Bottom, touch the hearts of young metal fans everywhere, and with tight vinyl pants stuffed with cucumbers and amps that go to eleven, This Is Spinal Tap is a witty, satirical take on the gritty underground of rock n' roll.

A must for any fan of rock music, Spinal Tap is definitely worth watching.
On a scale of one to ten, I'd give it an eleven.
