The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Starring Tim Curry, Richard O'Brien, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is far from your average classic film. Released in 1975 and based off of the London musical by the same name (minus the Picture), Rocky Horror is a strange, sexual, and witty satire of science fiction and horror films.

All the while narrated by the criminologist (Charles Gray), we follow a newly engaged couple Brad Majors and Janet Weiss (or more endearingly known to by most Rocky fans as Asshole and Slut) when a flat tire lands them in the home of Dr. Frank N. Furter, a transvestite scientist bent on creating the perfect boy toy, whom he reveals not long after our hero and heroine arrive. The creation's name is Rocky Horror. He's muscular, blonde, tan, and mute. He carries the Charles Atlas Seal of Approval.

After a brief run-in with rock n' roll loving ex-delivery boy Eddie (who Frank promptly rids of with the help of a pickax) and a meal consisting of his leftovers, a scene completely devoted to Janet's lust for Rocky, and a cabaret-style floor show with Brad, Janet, Columbia, and Rocky dressed in heels, you come to learn that this odd musical isn't anything like the Disney ones you've come to know and love.

No, Rocky Horror is a cult classic, followed by tons of fans who proudly dress up and sing alongside their favorite characters at midnight movie showings, who lovingly fling rice, toast, and shoot water from pistols at screened showings, who know the lyrics by heart, and who know that Rocky Horror is probably one of the weirdest musicals ever conspired. And you know what? They're proud of that.

I suggest any fan of musicals, any fan of horror, any fan of comedy, and any fan of a good time should see The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Even if you don't like it, it's one story you'll never forget.
