Twilight - Casting Mishap?

Twilight - Casting Mishap? Twilight. The very word strikes a certain thrill through many people, worldwide. A middle-aged woman, who never thought she had any of the talent that makes an excellent author, wrote one of the best-selling vampire novels. A dream is what started the whole thing. And, trust me, I'm actually being quite literal. You see, Stephanie Meyer had a dream about one of the scenes in the book, and started writing. What she came out with was a book that holds the power to make teen girls swoon. And then, for good measure, she wrote 4 more, although only three pertaining to the plot.

Everyone under 20 has heard of Twilight, the vampire novel that seems to rival even Dracula. The movie comes out tonight, (or to be more precise, tomorrow), and, although excitement is the top emotion displayed by Twilight fans, many seem more apprehensive. The problem? Well there are many, but one of the main, the one I am going to discuss, is casting.

The problem with making a movie out of a book so dearly loved, is that it's so easy to find something wrong with it. And Twilight fans have definitely found things wrong with the actors.

"He's not perfect enough.", "Edward's not British!", "Why did she choose him?", "What's with Jasper's HAIR!?". The list is endless. Girls, particularly, are finding it difficult to accept Robert Pattinson as their dashing Edward. This might be partially because some of them still think of him as sweet, handsome, dead, Cedric Diggory, from another favorite. This has been used for many phrases about the movie, one of which is "Cedric Diggory didn't die! He turned into a vampire, and changed his name to Edward Cullen!". Aren't we clever? Bella isn't ugly enough, Jasper has weird hair, Alice is too tall...shall I continue?

So, we shall see if Twilight lives up to all of the hype, or will it fall flat? Only tomorrow will tell.
