  • Blu-ray is like a DVD but in high-definition so it has a much better picture. It's completely worth it.

  • i saw the movie today...i liked it...but i can't sit in a movie theatre without making comments about it.....like when Sprint asks you to silent your phones, i goe, "Why should i listen to you? my company's t-mobile" i talk to the screen, so all in all it was a good movie...

btw what's with the blu-ray these days?
    what is blu ray?

  • Having read the books BEFORE it blew up, back in 06...
I generally liked it. I just got home from seeing it, and I liked it a lot. I'm not one of those "EDWARD CULLEN OMGZZZ" but I do enjoy reading them, and I would consider the serious ONE of my favorites (The Catcher In The Rye beating it.)

The movie's good. Go see it, if you go with an open mind and heart, you won't be disappointed.

  • Honestly, Catherine did a really good job.

Blew me away- though some parts were changed dramatically.
Some parts were gone and all that shiz.. Other than that - I really
    like the movie :D

  • I agree with all of you actually. It obviously wasn't as good as the book, but it's impressive that it even remotely kept up with it a little bit.

  • I went and saw this movie yesterday, and I just got back from seeing it tonight. (I decided that I had to drag my mom to see it too!)

And I have to say, I underestimated it.

When the previews came out, I was just like, "Meh, the books were good, not that stunning though, so yeah, I'll go see it for kicks and giggles."

It blew me away. Like MLE said, some of the parts were overdone: I particularly thought that the sound effects while Edward was "glittering" were a little not needed (and they earned a comment about a "fairy Edward" from my mother.), and the part where they're... gliding? flying? I don't know, soaring through the trees earned a chuckle from me.

Otherwise, it was excellent. Catherine Hardwicke stayed true to the book, I LOVED the cameo by Stephanie Meyer, and the casting, surprisingly, was excellent.

I can honestly say that I can't wait for New Moon. They set it up perfectly for a sequel, and I think I can say that many, many people will buy a movie ticket for this film.

    :D

  • I skipped school to see it yesterday and I'm so glad I did. They did a great job with the movie and with the extra scenes that were added I think they fit well with the book. All the actors and actresses did a good job but Angela should have been shyer and Kristen could have tried not to stumble through a lot of her lines like she did. All in all a great movie! I cannot wait for New Moon!

  • I was pretty skeptical when I saw previews for this movie, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Some scenes were poorly written and even more poorly acted out, but for the most part it was ok.
Rob still isn't a good Edward, but with the other chosen actors he fit in. Some parts in the movie were a little overdone, so I was pretty much laughing a lot during the movie.
and Jasper's role made me almost pee my pants every time he came on screen. His facial expressions were hysterical in my opinion.
so, the novel is by far superior, but the movie did ok, seeing as bringing Twilight and it's characters to life is pretty much impossible.
oh. and nikki reed, who played rosalie, her ass is huge. seriously, in those baseball pants. omigod.
just had to get that out. hah

  • MK, from that review I think I might actually want to se the movie now. I'm not going to read the book though, as I already told you. I am very glad you liked it. I think this article portrayed the movie very well in making me want to see it now. Good one!
