V for Vendetta

V for Vendetta Fear. Racism. Homophobia. These things, among others, are what are controlling London. Walking through the streets after curfew will get you attacked by Fingermen, a form of secret police.

Evey is just an average person working in London, obeying the rules, trying to get by unnoticed.
Adam Sutler, the man in charge, the High Chancellor, is taking away the people's rights one by one. Simple pleasures such as music, paintings and butter have been banned to help create a safe and stable environment. People live mundane lives.

One person hopes to change all that. A man known only as V. In the early hours of November 5th, after rescuing Evey from the Fingermen who were going to rape her, V blows up the Old Bailey, one of London's landmarks.

Sutler is infuriated, and orders his men to find V and kill him. When V manages to broadcast a message to the people of London - telling them to stand with him a year from now - Evey is knocked out, trying to save him. V takes her to his underground lair and apologizes for dragging her into the mess.

As the film goes on, Evey finds out about V's past, and realizes that she must help him if there will be any change.

Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd, V for Vendetta is a gripping thriller set in the not so distant future. Hugo Weaving, Natalie Portman and Steven Fry star in this amazing film about love and revolution.
