A Bee Movie

A Bee Movie Directors Steve Hickner and Simon J. Smith along with writers, Jerry Seinfeld and Spike Feresten have managed to create my personal favourite animation of the year, A Bee Movie.

At first when I heard about this movie, I figured that it would turn out to be just like the others. A happy beginning, a few funny things here and there, heartbreak, and then a resolved ending.

I was proved wrong with my assumptions when I went to the cinema to view the film. It turned out to be a comedy full through, no cliche heart-breaks and in fact, a very educational movie, especially when viewed by children.

I found that the plot line was very well developed, along with the fact that it was made clear that bee’s don’t exactly have that long of a life. When Barry and his father are talking about how fast Barry had grown up, his father was serious because it made a point of saying that he was only three days in school, three days in college, etc.

It was interesting to see the contrast between the fear humans sometimes have towards bees, then the feelings returned when the bees are actually just as afraid of humans, it makes you think differently about squatting a bee or any kind of bug.

I really found it educational to see a view of what the earth would be without bumble bees around. I knew they affected our flowers, but I didn’t think the flowers would die because of it. Now that I’ve seen A Bee Movie, I know the difference.

I’m probably not the only one who learned something from that animated movie, many younger kids and adults alike more than likely received an eye opening, and will hopefully think twice before stomping on a bee.

After watching a movie like that one (and ‘Happy Feet’) makes me hope for future educational cartoon movies.

Overall, I would give it a ten out of ten rating.
