Wicked - The Musical

Wicked - The Musical Based on the novel by Gregory Macquire, comes the musical - Wicked. Long before Dorothy dropped in, two girls met in the land of Oz. Elphaba, more known as the Wicked Witch of the West, is born with hideous emerald green skin, and is not accepted because of her appearance. She is strongly misunderstood because underneath, she is just a girl who shows great talent. Glinda is beautiful and popular - a very unlikely friend for Elphaba. Throughout the musical, the two develop a special bond.

The costuming and sets in the show were beautiful. The musical theatre was just amazing. Glinda got her part singing 'Popular' and sings it in order to try to transform Elphaba into a cool and accepted individual. Elphaba's main highlight in the musical, was her singing 'Defying Gravity'.

But all is not well in Oz. The citizens have been incited to the fear and hatred of talking animals, and Elphaba is determined to stand up for the animals after an encounter with her animal professor. When she finds out that the propaganda was actually the Wizard of Oz, she sticks to what she believes in and speaks out to him - even if it means having the whole of Oz thinking that you are indeed: Wicked

Winner of 15 awards, this Broadway musical shows the joyous celebrations of friendship, true happiness and sticking up for what you believe in. Musicals don’t get any more exhilarating or extraordinary than Wicked.
