The Simpsons Movie

The Simpsons Movie Another popular animated TV series made into a movie, many have been absolute flops but can The Simpsons Movie make the grade?

I know we all love The Simpsons, but admittedly when the film was announced everyone had that one question swirling around in their mind somewhere.

Another question was that, is this movie going to be just an overlarge Simpsons episode
put on the big screen?

Sorry to disappoint you, but this movie is anything but. This movie is an animated comedy masterpiece of the 21st Century.

It starts with a typical Simpsons storyline, the pollution in Lake Springfield has reached an all time high and Lisa is trying to convince Springfield to do something about it. As usual no one listens to her and everything blows up in her face. By now she's completely convinced no one in Springfield is enviromentally aware until she meets a young Irish lad called Colin.

She's convinced he's the love of her life and they both set out hand in hand to save Springfield! Meanwhile Homer and Bart are up to their usual mischief until Bart almost gets arrested for skateboarding nude for a dare. Bart becomes upset that Homer never sticks up for him so he turns to Ned Flanders for guidance. Ned becomes emotionally attached to Bart and starts treating him like a son of his own. Homer isn't really fazed by this though, he's replaced Bart with a cute little piglet who is widely known as Spiderpig.

However, if you look beyond the cute face, you will see something very sinister about Spiderpig. He ends up causing Homer a lot of trouble, but I won't say anything more because I don't want to spoil this wonderful movie for you all.

To conclude, I think The Simpsons movie was criminally underestimated before it was first screened, but The Simpsons did what they do best. They fought back and proved everyone wrong. In my opinion this movie is the perfect family night in and it's guaranteed to have you laughing your socks off.

Overall I give The Simpsons Movie...

10/10 .
