28 Weeks Later

28 Weeks Later 28 weeks later tells the story of what happens after 28 weeks of infestation in England. The movie follows a family that was split up because of the viral outbreak, a surviving father and his daughter and son. The mother is lost and given up for dead.

US forces have been able to contain and control the outbreak, building and populating a small portion of the city for survivors. The outer areas are cordoned off, for they are still deemed unsafe and a health hazard. With things starting to come back to normal, the threat seems past, a long gone nightmare. But all it takes to spread the virus, is blood, saliva, and other bodily fluids.

The infected aren't necessarily "Zombies" from other various popular movie lore. They don't eat flesh, they don't shamble around aimlessly, and they aren't the dead re-animated. In fact, the infected simply exist to kill and tear people apart with animalistic aggression. Ripping out throats, biting, clawing, beating, even eye gouging, is what they do to the hapless victims that they fall upon. They run too, at top speed towards their prey without stopping. The fleeing persons survival depends on how fast and how long they can run from their attackers. Any blood or saliva, I mean ANY, gets in your eyes or mouth or wherever, you have less than ten seconds before you yourself, become one of the infected.

Things seem to be fine in the newly built metropolis, until something unexpected happens. Next thing you know, a whole new outbreak is underway, the military losing control of containing the area. It isn't long before the military is given orders to exterminate each and every moving thing in the city, infected or not.

Now, a group of some survivors must brave the infected citizens of the city, the ruthless military's final solution to the problem, and other various trials such as gas attacks, snipers, and having to move through open fields and dark subways.

Graphic, suspenseful, and harrowing, this movie is just as frantic as the first one. With violent scenes of survival and turmoil, you sit on the edge of your seat as you watch people getting chased down and infected. This time around, the infected seem more violent, more aggressive, making the possibility of being butchered even more terrifying.

Grab a friend to hold on to, turn down the lights, and enjoy a movie that will have you questioning your own survival if such a scenario were to happen.
