Snoopy, Come Home

Snoopy, Come Home Snoopy, Come Home was released in 1972, and is a musical animated movie. Directed by Bill Melendez, and based on the Peanuts comic strip, this movie will move you to tears. Including the usual Peanuts crew, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy and Linus, Snoopy leaves home.

Snoopy receives a letter from a girl called Lila, who has been in the hospital for three weeks and needs Snoopy to keep her company. Upon hearing this news, Snoopy and Woodstock leave to go and find her. Charlie Brown does not know who Lila is, and is completely left in the dark when Snoopy leaves. Linus does some investigating, and finds out that Lila is Snoopy's original owner!

While going to Lila's hospital, Snoopy encounters many signs with "No Dogs Allowed" printed on them, and the famous "No Dogs Allowed" song is played, sung by Thurl Ravenscroft. Snoopy arrives at the hospital, and keeps Lila company for the rest of her admittance. Upon leaving, she thanks Snoopy for saving her life, and the two have a tear-jerking leaving sequence .

Upon returning home, Snoopy is thrilled to see Charlie Brown, and Charlie Brown is very relieved to have his much loved pet back. Snoopy eventually realises he has an obligation to Lila and must return to her permanently. The Peanuts Crew realise that this is true, and throw a Going Away party for Snoopy, who leaves a few mementos to everyone, except, ironically, Charlie Brown. When Charlie Brown gets up to say goodbye, he is overwhelmed by silence, and just bursts into tears, Snoopy doing the same.

I love this movie, and I recommend it to anyone who is secretly a child at heart.
