Rock of Ages Really Rocked

Rock of Ages was more than I expected it to be and in a good way! The movie started out by Sherrie setting out to Hollywood to find what she has always been looking for, Fame, but within the first twenty-four hours of being there she ends up broke. Drew comes along and manages to get her a job working at the Bourbon Room. And from there it just gets better. This movie shows the ups and downs to a relationship and why it is bad to just make accusations. The movie is classics of rock and will have all the rockers singing along in no time.

And this definitely changed my views of Tom Cruise for good. The part he played was Stacee Jaxx, the singer for the rock band, Arsenal. In the movie he is a doped up rock star with half naked women hanging all over him. Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough killed it in the parts of Sherrie and Drew. There on screen chemistry was very believable and their voices worked very well with each other. Russell Brand, of course, played the comedic part of Lonny, working at the Bourbon Room with Diego Boneta (Drew), Julianne Hough (Sherrie), and Alec Baldwin (Dennis, who owned the Bourbon). And Alec Baldwin played the convincing role of Dennis, the Bourbon Room owner who is a complete rocker and still young at heart. The two came out with a huge shocker near the end of the movie.

I saw this movie with my mom at midnight when it came out and she thought it was very sexually suggestive. But to me, when I think of Rock of Ages the first thing that comes to my mind is 'sex, drugs, and rock n roll.' I would definitely recommend this movie to all music lovers out there because it is just a fun, upbeat, rocking movie. I would NOT recommend this movie for anyone under 15 though because some scenes get very racy.

I could definitely see maybe a Rock of Ages 2 in the future. I thought the ending was very open and didn’t give you a whole lot to go off of. Hopefully there will be. Go check out Rock of Ages, and the soundtrack. The cast together is amazing and the soundtrack just as good!
