The Grey

The Grey is an action packed film released in 2011. When a plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness, its passengers have little hope of being rescued. The film follows this group of men as they fight to survive in a tundra that fights back. As the men face dropping temperatures, loss of food, and a starving pack of wolves, they must learn to trust one another or die trying.

The film had a slow beginning, with its small back story of the main character, played by Liam Neeson, but after the plane crashed, the movie was all action until the very end. The characters grow as the plot thickens, and when death seems imminent, they band together to escape the tundra.

Liam Neeson plays John Ottway, a man with many demons. His job protecting oil riggers from hungry wolves doesn’t fulfill him, and there are many times when he considers taking his own life, but when his life may be taken from him, he begins to realize how precious life is. Neeson did an excellent job embracing the character of John Ottway and his performance set this film apart from his many others. His character was tough, but relatable, and that is something Neeson is known for. Any fans of Liam Neeson will want to add this film to their shrine.

I recommend this movie to anyone, due to its amazing casting and over the top, outstanding plot.
