The Woman in Black
The Woman in Black is a newly released horror film based off the book by Susan Hill. The film follows Arthur Kipps, played by Daniel Radcliffe, as he travels from London to a small town for business. His job as a lawyer sends him to the Eel Marsh House, after the owner passes, so he can settle her affairs. Upon arriving in the town, he is met with whispers and rude stares, and he soon learns what all the whispering is about.
Daniel Radcliffe stars as Arthur Kipps, a kind father and widow. Kipps’s age isn’t stated during the film, but he appears to be a fair bit older than Radcliffe. Despite that setback, Radcliffe gave an excellent performance as Kipps. His acting ability shined in this incredible performance. Previously, he showcased his versatility in the many moments of the Harry Potter series, and he did it yet again in The Woman in Black.
The film wasn’t the scariest horror film I’ve ever seen, and a few of the scenes were less frightening than Radcliffe’s previous scenes with Voldemort. The Woman in Black was still an excellent watch and I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys horror films.
