The Forger

The Forger tells the story of Joshua Mason, a boy who was discarded by his mother and left on his own. At the young age of fifteen, Joshua begins getting into trouble. When he breaks into the home of an art collector, he gets caught and is forced to live with the man whose home he intruded. The art collector quickly notices Joshua’s talented hands and splendid art skills, but Joshua soon learns that there is more to the art collector than meets the eye.

Oddly enough, Joshua Mason is played by Josh Hutcherson, known for his role in The Hunger Games. The rising star gave an excellent performance as the angst ridden teen, and The Forger is a film he can happily add to his repertoire.

Hayden Panettierre plays Amber, Joshua’s love interest. Panettierre’s small role added the perfect bit of romance to the film and made it the total package. Lauren Bacall plays Anne-Marie, an elderly artist who shows Joshua that there are still good people in the world.

The Forger is an excellent film that proves there is beauty in everything if you look at it in the right light. I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys dramas like Bel Ami and Melancholia.
