Hiding
Hiding follows young Josephine as she is relocated by the witness protection program after she witnesses her parents being murdered. Josephine, who goes by Jo, has a hard time getting used to life in the country after living in New York City her whole life. Fortunately for Jo, readjusting is almost all she has to deal with for the majority of the movie. I was very surprised by the plot of the movie, which instead of focusing on the crime she witnessed and being in the witness protection program, mostly focused on Jo going to school, making friends, and falling in love.
The film was not at all what I expected and I was very disappointed. The film’s synopsis promised action and adventure, but instead the movie was filled with teenage angst and heart ache. The movie had more clichés than I could count, including a snobby popular group of girls, a nerdy best friend, a deep artsy fellow, a typical jock, and a love triangle reminiscent of the Twilight saga.
I was very disappointed in the film and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you’re looking for an action or horror movie, Hiding is definitely not it.
